Tips and Post Care Instructions for Advanced Facial Treatments of Microneedling, Dermaplaning and Chemical Peels

What to do after Microneedling?

The redness and swelling will most likely persist for 24 hours or slightly longer. Swelling and some skin peeling are all considered to be within the realm of normal up to 48 hours after the procedure. Other side effects, like bumps, breakouts, and dry skin, are also within the scope of what you may experience after a microneedling treatment, but not everyone will have the same experience. However, you should follow all of the post care instructions indicated below.

1. To ensure the most ideal healing environment, do not use AHA’S (Glycolic Acid), retinols, Vitamin C Serums or any alcohol-based toners for 2-3 days after your procedure.

2. Avoid strenuous exercises that cause sweating as well as Jacuzzi’s, saunas, hot showers and steam baths, for up to 48 hours.

3. Avoid makeup for at least 48 hours after your treatment as makeup will block the pores on your newly exposed skin and might even cause breakouts.

4. Sleep on your back with the head of the bed elevated to minimize swelling or pain as needed.

What to Do After Dermaplaning?

2. Avoid extreme heat for 3 days.

3. Do not use scrubs or other exfoliators for 1 week.

4. Avoid chlorine for 1 week.

2. Moisturize and hydrate.

3. Apply sunscreen with SPF30 or more.

4. Avoid strenuous workouts, dry saunas and steam rooms
